17 Months and a Podcast

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but life with 2 toddlers is very busy. Both girls are walking really well and sometimes running, whuch has turned into an adventure.

They both really like going to the aquarium and to a indoor toddler play area that has things they can climb on.

El has 2 teeth now that she got at 15 months, but we are still waiting for Em to get her first ones. Our pediatrician isn’t worried yet, but is Em doesn’t get her first tooth by next month she wants us to see a pediatric dentist just to make sure there isn’t anything to worry about. Late teething is genetic and I was a late teether so it makes sense that both girls would be, too. We are still babywearing a lot when we go out as a way to keep the girls out of trouble. I have become a volunteer educator with my local babywearing group. Because I have the most tandem wearing experience the other volunteers tend to send any questions about that over to me. Both Em and El are starting to use some words and sign language, although not all of the words are easily identifiable, it’s hard to pronouce a lot of words without teeth so some of what they say is guess work on our part.

We also went to Minnesota to see my extended family and have a family reunion.

The girls did great on the plane and over all did great on thelong car rides. We got them to sleep better in vacation this year by keeping them on Arizona time so it didn’t mess with their internal clock very much. We had a much easier time getting them down to bed and naps by doing that. The also got to be in a pool and a lakr for the first time, the lake was a complete bust, but they enjoyed the pool once they got used to it.

Em will be having surgery on the 19th to remove a dermoid cyst on the right side of her face near her eye. Her surgeon said that these cysts are very common and always benign. They are going to send it out for a biopsy just to be safe, but he said not to worry about it at all.

I have found an unusual side effect of the fertility treatments, my needle phobia is less severe than it was when we first started. I am now getting allergy shots to help with my seasonal allergies and hopefully that will help with my severe sensitivity to fragrances and smoke. Before the treatments this would never have been even a consideration for me. I also recently was interviewed as a part of a podcast a good friend of mine is doing. It is available on iTunes, Spotify, Pocket Casts, and other pod cast sites.
