A Date is Set

We had an ultrasound today to make sure I didn’t have any cysts we need to worry about before the frozen embryo transfer. Because of the holidays we have to wait until after the New Year for the transfer. At the ultrasound we got good news that there aren’t any cysts and we will be good to start the medications later in December in preparation for a January 19th transfer. I start having to do more subcutaneous injections starting Christmas morning, one of the nurses said it was their Christmas present to me. I will also be starting taking a pill twice a day on January 2. The transfer process has fewer blood draws which will be good for my anxiety levels.

We also discussed how many embryos to transfer. Because we are not doing any genetic testing on the embryos we have decided to transfer 2 embryos to give ourselves the highest chance of a successful pregnancy. Dr. Amols is very optimistic that we will be able to finally get pregnant and have the child(ren) we have been praying for. He said that all 4 embryos that made it to the blastocyst stage are really good and he doesn’t think there will be any issues with us getting pregnant.

The biggest concern we have with the upcoming transfer is my uterine lining is still really thick. Dr. Amols said that could be because of leftover hormones in my system from the high number of eggs I had. The plus side is that I will have another period before the transfer which should get us to the optimal lining thickness for the transfer.

We are very excited and looking forward to this new journey in our lives. We are grateful that God has provided for this treatment to occur and pray that He will continue to show us His path for our family.
