My cycle has finally started back up again so we had a baseline ultrasound with Dr. Amols. My uterus looked great, but while he was checking the measurements for it Dr. Amols noticed a problem. A couple of weeks ago I had a sharp pain on my right side but figured it was just ovulation pains since there isn’t a fallopian tube on that side anymore. It turns out that I have a large 3.5 cm cyst on the right ovary (that entire black area is the cyst). It is large enough that Dr. Amols is concerned that it could grow larger with the stimulation medicines so I will be going on birth control for the next 2 weeks and hope that the cyst shrinks considerably in that time. At this point it is looking like my next transfer will be at the beginning of July rather than mid June like we had been planning.
This just seems like another delay in a long litany of delays for this transfer cycle which is rather irritating. I will say this entire process has showed me just how important faith is. I don’t know how we would have gotten through all of this without our faith that God has a plan for our family. Between all of the failed treatments and the ectopic pregnancy, without our faith I’m pretty sure we would have given up by this point. We also wouldn’t be where we are without our amazing support group of our friends and family. We are so appreciative of all of the love and support from everyone and I am personally appreciative that you all read this and give me somewhere to vent my frustrations.
