We are getting closer and closer to the retrieval date! Our date has been set for Tuesday, November 8 at 12:15 PM. We are getting so close to knowing how many eggs we will have to work with. Continue reading “The Retrieval is in Sight”

Close to Half Way There
Week 1 of the IVF retrieval process is just about done. We had another ultrasound today and Dr. Amols said everything was looking good. We have 8 growing follicles on one side and 6 on the other with the largest being 10mm. Continue reading “Close to Half Way There”
Start of My Pin Cushion Life
Yesterday was the first of many blood draws leading up to our retrieval. In preparation for all of the blood draws I am making sure that I am very well hydrated. Being dehydrated can make it harder for them to hit the vein on the first try, so I’m drinking a lot of water. Continue reading “Start of My Pin Cushion Life”
The Test Results Keep Coming In
We have gotten through our appointments this week and have already gotten a good chunk of our results back. Continue reading “The Test Results Keep Coming In”
Getting Closer
We are starting to get closer to doing our retrieval. Matthew and I drove to the pharmacy yesterday to get all of the meds I will need for the retrieval at the end of the month. We got a lot of boxes of medications, needles, bandaids, alcohol swabs, and finally a sharps container. I’m starting to feel more like a drug addict than I did before, at least it’s all prescribed? This is Really Happening
This is happening, we are really going to go through with the IVF this year. A few things have happened recently that have cemented everything. I got my retrieval calendar today from Dr. Amols’s office. Continue reading “This is Really Happening”
And On To Something New
We are now in another waiting phase. These things seem to never end. We met with Dr. Amols on Tuesday to discuss finances and our options. A cycle of IVF with a transfer is going to end up costing $4,800 minus whatever the insurance company feels like paying plus the medications. Fortunately for us, our prescription insurance is pretty awesome and will cover most of our medications, which can get really pricey. Continue reading “And On To Something New”
Well, That Didn’t Work
If you haven’t guessed based on the title of this post, we got a BFN on the pregnancy test following our last IUI. We were really hopeful about this last IUI, but it is apparently not in God’s plan for us to get pregnant through an IUI. Continue reading “Well, That Didn’t Work”
Half Way There!
We are now a little over half way through our TWW! Six more days until we know if our last IUI has worked and we are pregnant. There can be a lot of anxiety during this wait, and it can sometimes feel like it will never end. Continue reading “Half Way There! “
Last IUI Two Week Wait
We are at our last Two Week Wait (TTW) for an IUI. We are hoping it is our last two week wait until we are ready to have another child, as well. The IUI went as well as it can. I am never going to say that it is a fun experience or that it is a comfortable one, either. To be honest, it kind of hurts both during the insemination and for about a day afterwards.
